The John Bolton PAC was founded to raise the importance of American national security in federal elections. Protecting our vital individual freedoms at home requires securing America’s interests in an increasingly threatening world. We have a profound obligation to restore Ronald Regan’s commitment to “peace through strength” by continuing to enhance our military, intelligence and diplomatic capabilities. Moreover, we must sustain the inherent strength of America’s economic system by continuing to slash unnecessary, burdensome federal expenditures and regulations.
The John Bolton PAC supports candidates who are committed to building on the progress we have made. We must not miss this important obligation to elect candidates who support foreign and defense policies and an economic philosophy that centers on a free and secure America. Retreating into a shell behind our borders is not the answer.
We cannot have a strong international presence — politically, diplomatically or militarily — without a vibrant, growing domestic economy. Similarly, we cannot have that expanding economy without a strong presence around the world. America must urgently repair the erosion of our military and intelligence capabilities so that we are prepared to deter or, where necessary, confront threats and challenges to our freedoms. We believe that it is not American strength that is provocative, but American weakness. We must refocus our priorities on policies that make us strong so we can remain free.
During the last six election cycles, the John Bolton PAC sought and supported 291 primary and general election candidates for the Senate and House who were committed to restoring strong American economic and national security. We intend to increase our recruiting efforts to seek strong candidates to build on the successes of the last twelve years. We need leaders who believe that America’s continuing presence in the world is good for America, good for our freedoms, good for our economy, and good for our future. The John Bolton PAC will support candidates determined to reverse the recent policies of decline, retreat, and the mistrust of American exceptionalism.
The John Bolton PAC is a federal hybrid PAC that can make both direct contributions to candidates and independent expenditures under 26 U.S.C.§ 527, with public reporting as required by the Federal Election Commission. The John Bolton PAC was founded by former National Security Advisor and Ambassador to the United Nations John R. Bolton. Ambassador Bolton has previously served in numerous government positions, including Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, and Assistant Attorney General in charge of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division. He is also the author of the best-selling books Surrender Is Not an Option: Defending America at the United Nations and Abroad and The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir.
